Theology of Love

“…. for God is love.” 1 John 4:8 (KJV)

Love is grace; love is one of the greatest Christian virtues. Various Christian theologians through centuries have touched upon love in different contexts: on the levels of God – creation, God – man, man – man, man – nature, etc.
Love is considered to be a reason of creation of God, as well as a reason of making man of the only-begotten Son of God and kenosis. At the same time the divine love is in relation and combination with the ideas of truth, justice, beauty. Love is in the center of heart and mind of Christian mystic thinkers. Eventually, Church as a body of Christ is also “permeated” with love, which is a ‘ferment’ for the unity of believers of God.
